Where can I get the best individual dental insurance?

I need to purchase my own dental insurance. Who offers the best bang for the buck?
Thanks. I looked at ameritas, but it looks like it may just be through a group plan. I didn’t see anything about offerings for individual.

Honestly, I haven’t EVER seen an individual dental policy that pays out more than you pay in. Between waiting periods, copays, and coverage limits, you’re just as well off working out a payment plan with your dentist.

Do a google search for Ameritas Dental Insurance. Generally I’d say there is no best for certain plans, but in the case of individual dental insurance the Ameritas plan is the best. I also have some comparisons on my site if you need more information.

It depends on where you live but it’s about $30 (give or take $10 or so) for $1500 a year of benefit, plus vision benefits on some plans. PLUS with the PPO insurance plan you still get the discounts that a discount plan would provide.

Anthem Blue Cross has some inexpensive dental HMO plans (~$10-20) that are available only in California. I do not know of any dental insurance that is available nationally.

Americas Health Brokers offers individual dental insurance. Also I got my family covered as a group. Really cheap and with 0 deductibles. Plans start as low as $79.95 per year. You can Google for their site.
