Can people in Vegetative States get Term Life Insurance?

My aunt isnt really in a vegetative state. She is aware of her surroundings and can tell when family comes in. However, she’s had 6 or 7 strokes which have left her unable to move or talk. I am wondering if she is still eligible for Term Life Insurance – which would cover the funeral costs when she passes.

"Can people in Vegetative States get Term Life Insurance?"
Answer: No. She would not qualify medically for term life insurance. She would not even be be accepted for a simplified issue policy. The only type of policy she could get at this point in time is a guaranteed issue policy.

Someone who has had 6 or more strokes would not be able to obtain any life insurance that has any requirements concerning medical condition. Whether she is or is not in a vegetative state does not matter. The only life insurance that she can obtain are the policy for which anyone who meets the age criteria, belongs to the correct organization, etc., qualifies, regardless of health.

If you were the insurance company would you insure your aunt for any amount? Unfortunately, it is a lose, lose situation for any company to insure. Learn from this that one day when you have your own family, you make the effort to purchase insurance to protect them in case of your premature demise, and you do this before any catastrophe occurs.

    Is money no object?

Are you willing to pay, say, $110,000 for a $100,000 payout? If so, yes, she can get it! if not, no, she can’t.
