Don’t bother starting with Farmers. Taxis are very high risk, and not many companies will write them, if they don’t have to. If you’re calling State FArm, Nationwide, Farmers, etc, you’re wasting your time.
Liability only, is going to run you about $6,000 a year. Unless your state requires it, the insurance company isn’t going to offer you payments. You’re going to have to either go to a local, independent agency that specializes in commercial auto, or go to a local agency that can shop this out. Likely, you’ll end up in your state faciliity auto, assigned risk pool, or whatever it is they call it in LA.

Roy, I would start with a local Farmers Group agent. They have really good programs for small businesses. I am not licensed with them, but have seen some of the packages they offer, and they are usually very competitive. If they can’t help, find an independent broker that writes for a lot of different companies. Be sure you don’t just go for price alone… good service is worth a lot when you need it.
The cost for Taxi insurance will have many variables like driving record, credit score, etc.

Also, don’t listen to the "super poster"… she doesn’t know the whole story.
You may have to pay around $5-$6k a year, but you can finance the premium. The going rates where I’m at are between 6%-11%
