How can I verify that the rate provided by a property insurance company is true? (it is S&P rate)?

When our company announced tender for receiving property insurance service, some companies say they have S&P rating AA-. I want to check it. Could you tell me please how can I do that?

You can get the S & P ratings at their web site – http://www.standardandpoors.com/ratings/en/us/ (though you are required to register it is free)

If you don’t want to do that you might try going to the library. If the library does not have a copy of the S & P ratings book call your State insurance department…

Call the Department of Insurance in your state and ask.

What you mean is the insurer’s credit rating for debt? Any financial website can tell you.

You can easily check your quotes in internet, for example here – homeinsurance.awardspace.us
